Once again, my daily Namor posting – mostly my 365 Days of Namor project – failed. Lots of reasons for this, including the character’s complete absence for months at Marvel Comics. It’s beyond frustrating. Anyway, this year, however, I’m doing something different, and going to try to get back on track immediately, instead of throwing in the towel until next year. Hopefully my posting won’t be too sporadic, if you are hanging in there and following me for the Namor content. Thanks!

This wasn’t from an official trading card set, but was commissioned directly from the artist, and is a PSC: Personal Sketch Card. This one is actually a ‘puzzle’ of two cards, when placed next to other form the bigger image… of a gorgeously hot Phoenix Namor in an alternate costume.

An AMAZING amount of detail crammed into 2 tiny 2.5″ x 3.5″ cards.

Day 189

“Speedo-Juice???

How is Dr. Nemesis (aka as Nazi murderer Dr. Death) not a flattened white pancake?

Also, sadly no speedo.

Also, this demonstrates why the alliance with the X_Men was doomed, when the X-Men think stealing the Atlanteans power source is no big thing.

“And the petty laws of surface humans are not sufficient to restrain me.”

Things you’ve always wanted to say to the cop pulling you over for traffic violations.

Phoenix Five

Another very short lived team, but boy were they powerful, and even more, they looked awesome and hawt. The costumes were designed by Olivier Copiel The team was made up of Peter, Emma, Namor, Illyana, Scott, so some fans referred to them affectionately as P.E.N.I.S.

Basically in a conflict with the Avengers over the approaching Phoenix Force and Hope Summers, Iron Man ended up splitting the Phoenix Force and it possessed these five mutants. Even though the Phoenix Five were using their powers to solve the world’s problems, the conflict with the Avengers continued and the Phoenix Force corrupted them. For ‘reasons’ Phoenix Namor was the first to go Dark Phoenix and attacked Wakanda, which was harboring the Avengers and captured mutants. It happened in this issue with a great cover by Jim Cheung.

Warlord Krang

An Atlantean foe for Namor, created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby who first appeared in Fantastic Four Annual #1. He basically wanted everything associated with Namor, like his throne and Lady Dorma.

Roy Thomas later retconned him as the leader of the boarding party to recover Princess Fen aboard the Oracle, so basically responsible for Captain Leonard McKenzie’s ‘death’ before Namor was born.
